Findings/Feasability: So, based on some research on this subject, most papers agree this could potentially be used as an anesthetic. However, there are some concerns about the viability of this in our product: 1. Improper use of this can cause permanent nerve damage. In our case, this would be total paralysis. Not good. So, we would have to limit the output and carefully monitor the nerves somehow. 2. The recovery time from this could be an issue in a consumer product. Conductivity of the nerves tested after a full block was regained after 5 minutes (which would already be too long), but a full block required 90 minutes for a full recovery. I don't think being weak and numb for an hour and a half would go over well. Also should be noted, I only found papers done on nerves in vitro, so these results could change within an actual living being. Source: Most of my research came from here, but looking through other papers on the subject shows similar results. Personal Note: While it could certainly be useful for a general anesthetic in the medical field, not sure this is what we are looking for. Anyone found any papers showing better recovery times under different circumstances? Heh, first post is research. Who has time for introductions?

Hey, welcome to the forum. I am glad you could join us here. Focused Ultrasound is definitely something we're looking into and we could use all the people we can get to help us research more about it. Do you think you could read up on it more, became well educated about it and provide a full length post about it?
