Hello all,
I am going to list off the basic rules for posting in the forums here to keep everything in line.
1. Be polite to others on the website. The purpose here is to advance research, not get into a heated argument with others.
2. Refrain from using obscenities. Again, there is no purpose for using them, and removal of posts that use them will be removed by admin/moderator discretion.
3. Make sure to follow the guidelines made for each section. Posts will be moved or removed based on content in the incorrect section.
4. All research provided in the research section must have a citation. Copyright infringement is a very serious subject. By not providing citations, you are passing off the information you post there as your own, which on an academic level can get you expelled from university. Please keep the research section professional, and provide proper citation to any material posted there.
5. Offenders to rules will be first suspended by admin/moderator discretion. Repeat offenders will then be banned by admin/moderator discretion.
6. Admins/Moderators will send a banned member a message providing the reason for the ban, including the date of banning.
7. You can make appeal to a ban by contacting any of the admins/moderators and providing
a) Profile name
b) Date of Banning
c) Reason for the banning
d) Reason why you did what you did, and why you should be unbanned
Based on the reasoning provided in part d, it is up to the admins/moderators discretion to unban that person.
8. Please keep all discussion on a mature level
9. Please use normal English in the discussions. Writing in all caps is excessive, and text speech is unnecessary.
10. Do not abuse the report button. Only report for violation of the rules, and only one report per offense.
11. Have mutual respect for other members on the forum. Many of us are different ages and in different fields of study. Don't disrespect others based on their life choices or beliefs.
12. Avoid bringing in religion, politics, and other controversial topics into the forum discussions. Your own personal beliefs do not intervene with the progression of science and technology.
Future rules may be added to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. Any suggestions for new rules can be made in the Suggestions section. Make sure to follow these rules and welcome to the forums.
